Led by Miovision and announced yesterday at ITS America in Phoenix, the Unity for Mobility Industry initiative addresses critical urban challenges like safety, congestion and sustainability.

“The industry grew up in a time with little data exchange, proprietary interfaces and vendor lock in,” said Kurtis McBride, CEO, Miovision. “It’s now 40 years later and people are embracing the idea that collaboration and integration with other products are important.”

Exhibitors at ITS America that have signed on to the initiative include: Miovision, Geotab, Lyt, AM Signal, HaaS Alert, Derq and others.

Specifically, the initiative will focus on reducing accidents, improving traffic flow to lessen environmental impacts and boost economic vitality, integrating robust security measures to protect critical infrastructure from cyber threats and refine digital interoperability standards that ensure seamless integration across technologies.
