Highways England (HE) and Dawson Rentals have entered a partnership to deploy three unmarked HGV cabs that will patrol motorways and main trunk roads after one was used by Police to help catch over 4,000 dangerous drivers in its first two years. The European Court of Justice has ruled against Uber, concluding it to be a transport service, which will require it to have stricter regulation and licensing as a taxi operator within the EU. The decision follows a challenge presented by taxi drivers in Barcelona who were seeking a declaration from a court in 2014 that activities of Uber Systems Spain, amounted to misleading practices and acts of unfair competition.

58% of Britons who took part in a More Than (MT) visual deterrent speed sign test support its new proposal for speed limit signs to be accompanied by images of car crashes to deter drivers from speeding. Jenoptik’s Specs Average Speed Enforcement Cameras have been installed between Junction 5 of the M65 near Belthorn though to A56 at Haslingden, following The Lancashire Road Safety Partnership’s plan to reduce casualties and collisions across chosen routes. The cameras are also designed with the intention of influencing driver behavior to create smoother traffic flows. Unibuss has received the first of two electric buses (EBs) which will both run on line 74 between Mortensrud and Week, in Olso, Norway. The pilot will gather experiences of the operation and is part of a project that will run six EBs in the future under the direction of journey planner Ruter.
