The AI-supported Politess GO system can allow automated licence-plate recognition for parking control while an officer is passing on foot, cycling or driving and can even be drone-based. Officers can use their smartphones to check and see if a vehicle is registered and if the driver has paid for parking. Should the driver have not paid, the enforcement officer can issue a ticket that features a QR code.
When the driver returns to the vehicle, scanning the QR code will provide a link to images showing where and when the parking offence was committed. The QR code also provides a link to where the driver can pay for the parking charge.
The new tool includes professional Dashboard, task management and administrative steps up to the legal process. However, AI-based blurring of licence plates not involved in parking offences ensures compliance with GDPR requirements.
