Indra and engineering firm Eléctricas de Medellín Ingeniería y Servicios has commissioned a control centre and a back-up centre to supervise a 9km tunnel in Columbia. Both centres will monitor the safety and revenue collection systems of the Túnel de Oriente, which serves as a transport link between the city of Medellín and José María Córdoba airport. Indra is to integrate the management of Transurban Queensland’s road assets in the Australian state into a single control centre. Indra has created a new traffic control centre in Kuwait equipped with its smart traffic and tunnel management platform, Horus, to present a graphic format of collected traffic data to operators and citizens. Analysis of the data is designed with the intention ascertaining commuter patterns or traffic growth, plan traffic infrastructures and develop new mobility laws and legislation.

Indra has been awarded a contract from Highways England (HE) to install a Tunnel Management Control System (TMCS) for its tunnel estate as part of a project that foresees the option of implementing the solution in all 13 tunnels managed by HE for €10 million (£8,900,00).
