Q-Free and an unnamed local partner have been chosen to deliver tolling solutions for a 22km toll road which runs from central Bangkok to Don Muang Airport in Thailand. Norwegian toll systems supplier Q-Free is to supply its OBU610 on board toll tag to the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT). Due to Q-Free’s use of new production technology, the US£2 million order will be delivered within a month. Q-Free’s universal OBU610 is designed to blend into the interior of any modern vehicle and supports all 5.8GGhz CEN DSRC protocols for automatic vehicle identification and toll fee collection.

Q-Free has recently won two tolling contracts with a combined order value of approximately US$4 million (NOK35 million).

Q-Free Thailand is to supply Bangkok Expressway and Metro with new tolling systems, to be delivered by the end of the third quarter of 2016. The US$2.5million orders also include a one-year extension of an existing service and maintenance contract.
