Tier Mobility launches services in the Netherlands tomorrow, with 250 e-bikes deployed in Eindhoven and a fleet of electric shared bicycles and scooters to follow in Utrecht on Friday.

Jesper Vis, Tier general manager Benelux, says a range of shared mobility options can help people to make more sustainable and healthier mobility choices, and hopes the launch encourages more Dutch cities to follow suit.

"We want to make cities accessible, pleasant, future-proof and less dependent on cars," he adds.

"A sustained change of behaviour can lead to a decrease in traffic pressure and gas emissions in our cities and improve the quality of life for all."

Tier staff will travel through the cities on electric cargo-bikes and in vans to replace batteries on site, rather than removing vehicles to a warehouse for recharging.

To prevent street clutter, the Tier app contains instruction modules on responsible use and parking which, the company insists, "cannot be skipped".
