Arjowiggins Security has strong links with CARTES 2013’s Guest of Honour Country, Brazil.

The company has had a presence in Brazil since 1977, and employs almost 400 staff between a plant in Salto and a sales office in Sao Paulo. From Salto it manufactures and supplies products for applications such as banknotes, official documents, passports and ID, ticketing and access control. In fact, the company states, it is the domestic leader in the security market.

Arjowiggins Security has contributed with Casa da Moeda do Brazil to the development of an electronic, ICAO-standard passport solution for the Brazilian Government. To date, around 7 million such documents have been issued. The company is supplying the main physical security components of the passport booklet as well as a dedicated operating system which makes the Brazilian ePassport one of the most secure in the world.

Arjowiggins Security will also be the official ticket producer for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

“The company has been chosen by FIFA for its unique experience in the implementation of customised global solutions, for its original and technically advanced offer, and for its historical presence in Brazil,” says Michel Jacques Giordani, CEO Latin America and Security Solutions.

As well as meeting appropriate ISO product and service quality standards, the Salto plant also takes a lead locally in social and environmental matters.
