As part of ITS America 2016 San Jose’s focus on government policy, business and technology, senior officials from the US Department of Transportation will gather for a SuperSession at 9:00am on Wednesday, June 15 in Grand Ballroom 220C of McEnery Convention Center to offer updates on the latest developments in federal transportation policy, intelligent transportation systems programs and FAST Act implementation.
This Supersession will feature Gregory G. Nadeau, administrator of the Federal Highway Administration; Gregory D. Winfree, assistant secretary for Research and Technology for the US Department of Transportation; T.F. Scott Darling, III, acting administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration; and Vincent Valdes, associate administrator for the Office of Research, Demonstration and Innovation in the Federal Transit Administration.
“Government, business and technology are all moving in their own directions at their own speed,” said Regina Hopper, president and CEO of ITS America.
“Business and technology can react quickly with ideas to meet market needs, but government is still responsible for developing policies around implementation. The question is…how can they work together better—and in a timelier fashion—to ensure the future of transportation is as safe, efficient and effective as possible?”
