Connected mobility services provider Intertelematics will support Gewi over four years to upgrade the latter’s Suna traffic channel in Australia. Suna is a digital service that provides information on traffic congestion and incidents to all Australian capital cities and major regional cities as well as New Zealand. Vricon has launched its Precision 3D Registration (P3DR) software suite which, the company says, georegisters imagery automatically anywhere in the world. It works with Vricon’s Globe in 3D brand, a source of geospatial and digital elevation data used by defence and intelligence agencies. Navtech Radar has launched a sensor to complement its ClearWay solution and provide automatic incident detection (AID) coverage in highways and tunnels for 175m in both directions. Phil Avery, the company’s managing director, claims that the solution is ideal for applications where line-of-sight is limited. Called CTS175, the solution features Clearview’s AID solution and can be used for traffic applications, including roads, tunnels and bridges.

Airbus’ on-demand helicopter Voom and Audi vehicles will provide São Paulo and Mexico City with an end-to-end transportation service for air and ground this summer. The companies say they intend to offer users a seamless and convenient travel experience. Voom has already been trialled in São Paulo as part of a strategy to help ease congestion by making helicopter travel more accessible and affordable. Sony Europe Imaging Sensing Solutions has launched its industrial vision global shutter complementary metal oxide semiconductor (GS CMOS) module to use the USB3.0 transmission standard. Called XCU-CG160, the solution has a 1.6MP resolution and is said to transmit data at 100 frames per second.

Volkswagen will invest €15bn in electric and autonomous vehicles (AVs) in China by 2022, according to a report by Euractiv.com.
