Orafol is showing off its latest-generation UV LED dual-roll permanent traffic sign printer for the first time at Intertraffic. The Oralite RTR 3200i LED printer has an increased production speed and offers a 30% increase in productivity over the existing model, says Orafol’s John Crotty, with lower power consumption a particular attraction to customers. “Everyone’s moving to LED,” he continues. “It is simpler to operate with fewer mechanical parts, lamps are instantly on/off, there is no warm up/cool down

If you’ve ever peered inside the printer hooked up to your desktop computer and watched the print head shuttling across the page, the new Oralite UV digital traffic screen printer being demonstrated by Orafol will look familiar – but much, much bigger. The German company says its new product is much more environmentally-friendly than traditional screen-printing techniques when it comes to printing road signs in retroreflective materials.

Orafol will use Intertraffic Amsterdam 2014 to showcase a full range of retroreflective materials which includes all relevant grades of reflectivity for different traffic applications, in both prismatic and glass bead materials. As the company points out, a great number of the Oralite and Reflexite brand of films are CE approved, for manufacturing of CE marked signage. Also on display will be a live demonstration of the new Oralite UV Digital Traffic Sign Printer, an environmentally friendly alternative
