657 Kistler will use Intertraffic Amsterdam 2018 to launch the KiTraffic WIM systems which serve a number of traffic and road monitoring applications, including gathering traffic data, collecting toll fees, protecting road infrastructure, and detecting vehicle overloading. These systems make use of compact and maintenance-free Lineas sensors that are integrated into the road itself and can be adjusted, based on the road material. The systems monitor vehicles at varying speeds and on virtually infinite numbers of lanes as well as in a range of environmental conditions.
With KiTraffic Plus, road owners and operators can accurately detect and identify overloaded vehicles. This solution collects all relevant vehicle weight and identification data and can be used to make weight enforcement more effective and to calculate fees based on vehicle weight. Additionally, the new KiTraffic Statistics, based on the new Lineas Compact sensors, provides a very robust system to collect vehicle and axle weight data, helping authorities and operators to optimise their price-performance-ratio and to determine the best road maintenance intervals.
On the services side, Kistler’s road analysis and assisted calibration services ensure that customers get the most out of their WIM solution. The company’s experienced engineers not only help to determine the optimal position for sensors on any given road, they also provide support on how to correctly implement truck calibration over the phone, by mail or onsite.
