Canadian Investment company Quarterhill has completed the acquisition of Belgian company iCOMS Detections, an intelligent transportation systems company, which will be integrated into Quarterhill’s wholly-owned subsidiary, International Road Dynamics (IRD). Founded in 1993, iCOMS specialises in the design and manufacture of radar microwave detectors and equipment. WiLAN has completed its acquisition of International Road Dynamics (IRD) and will begin trading on 6 June 2017 as Quarterhill, as part of its plan to transition to a growth-oriented diversified investment holding company by acquiring businesses that will operate alongside the company's intellectual property licensing business.
