Motorists travelling over San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge are set to pay an extra 25 cents per trip from 1 July. According to a report by Marin Independent Journal: “The onslaught of toll increases at the Golden Gate Bridge is not likely to subside as span authorities face looming budget deficits.” The bridge board will need to decide if more toll hikes are needed in a discussion scheduled for this autumn.

Kapsch TrafficCom’s Customer Service System (CSS) will be used by the Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) to process electronic toll and parking transactions. For the upgrade, valued $67m (£47m), Kapsch will utilise radio-frequency identification (RFID) toll readers, automated number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras and scanners in the mixed-mode lanes. The company will also install its stereoscopic vehicle detection and classification sensor (nVDC) in the all-electronic toll lanes.

Emovis has announced its toll interoperability cloud-based hub in Ireland has cleared more than 50 million cleared in 2017. The solution is intends to allow drivers to travel with one toll tag across the whole country. The company says there are more than 650,000 toll transponders in use as of January 2018.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) and North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority have selected Cofiroute USA (Cofiroute), a Vinci Highways subsidiary, to deliver toll services that will help them provide a better service for drivers.
