One of Australia’s largest tollways, EastLink, has successfully switched over to a new tolling back office system and customer website, provided by intelligent transport systems provider SICE.

The New Zealand Government and Auckland Council have begun a project to investigate smarter transport pricing in Auckland.

Q-Free has been awarded a new contract by Norwegian transport organisation Fjord1 for the supply of AutoPASS solutions for ferry connections between Hareid-Sulesund and Magerholm-Sykkylven (Sulapakken).

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) has awarded Kapsch Traffic Com IVHS the contract to design and build the all-electronic tolling facilities and associated infrastructure for Rhode Island's truck-only tolling program. The company will also operate and maintain all the tolling facilities.

The de Blasio administration this week unveiled plans to tackle the New York's congestion crisis. Several of the new initiatives rely on enforcement, such as offences like the blocking of yellow boxes, blocking of bike and bus lanes and double parking. Other strategies revolve around managing curb space.

The Washington Transportation Commission (WSTC) has retained D’Artagnan Consulting as the prime contractor to assist with formulation, design, management and implementation of the Washington Road Usage Charge Pilot Project. This pilot project will demonstrate and evaluate an operational road usage charge system with a minimum of 2000 volunteers for a period of 12 months, expected to begin in January 2018.
