EsoftThings (EST) has announced it has joined Renesas’ R-Car Consortium to accelerate the development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving (AD) with computer vision technology optimized for R-Car systems-on-chip (SoCs). The Renesas computer vision and cognitive Accelerator IMP-X5 of the R-Car SoCs are designed with the intention of processing huge amounts of real-time input from cameras and radar sensors that are being added to future models of cars.

Jenoptik’s Specs Average Speed Enforcement Cameras have been installed between Junction 5 of the M65 near Belthorn though to A56 at Haslingden, following The Lancashire Road Safety Partnership’s plan to reduce casualties and collisions across chosen routes. The cameras are also designed with the intention of influencing driver behavior to create smoother traffic flows. Average Speed Check Signs are also being used throughout the route to ensure that drivers are aware that their speed is being monitored.

Global Traffic Technologies (GTT) has introduced an Opticom Priority Control as a Service (PCaas) to Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) departments to enable priority control at intersections and get vehicles to the scene of an emergency quickly and safely.
