Finland is offering a nationwide location for testing new connected ITS and automated vehicle technology in Arctic conditions. The Snowbox ‘test ecosystem’ is being promoted as part of the wider Aurora ITS project on the Finnish pavilion at the 2015 World Congress.

World Congress delegates considering using small wireless networks should make a beeline for stand of Proxim Wireless where the company is exhibiting its new Tsunami 820. The unit can be used as either a base station to communicate with traffic lights or as an onboard unit to send information such as video images from buses.

Toyota has pledged to make its Mobility Teammate concept a reality by 2020. German measurement technology specialist, G. Lufft is here at the ITS World Congress with a clear message: although stationary road weather information sensors have been in use for many years, even the densest RWIS network can’t cover what Marwis, the innovative mobile road sensor, is capable of.
