Passport brings traffic management platform to the UK
UK drivers ‘rack up’ more than £570m in fines each year, according to an independent study conducted by US mobile payment company Passport. The firm has opened an office in London and is offering a platform which it says aims to boost traffic management in cities.
Called Passport Platform, the solution is intended to connect multiple modes of transportation and payments and provide a way for cities to understand, manage and collaborate with an ecosystem of mobility services.

Nova Bus will deploy four 40-foot LFe buses in Montreal in 2019 to provide citizens with a sustainable mode transport. Translink launches ticketing system for Glider bus network
Translink has unveiled its future ticketing system at the launch of the Glider bus rapid transit network in Belfast. The technology will allow riders with more flexible options to pay for journeys, the company says.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) and A*Star’s Institute for Infocomm Research (I²R) are developing a smart traffic light control system to help improve traffic flows in Singapore.

Car2go has expanded its electric car-sharing service to provide members with an environmentally friendly option for travelling between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and the capital city.
The company says its customers will have access to a 24/7 service, 16 parking spaces and eight charging stations in the public garage of the World Trade Center at Schiphol. Users can pick up an electric smart Fortwo vehicle at a Car2go hub close to the airport terminal.

Tritium receives US funding to make cheaper ultra-fast EV charger
Tritium will use $400,000 in US funding to develop a cheaper version of its Veefil-PK ultra-fast charger for electric vehicles (EVs).
The fund is part of the Electric Power Research Institute's (EPRI) $3.2m package, issued by the US Department of Energy (DoE), to develop a fast charging system which will connect to the grid.
Once complete, the plug-in system is expected to reduce the impact on the grid and charge multiple EVs quickly.
