TransCore has been selected by Cobb County Department of Transportation, Atlanta, to expand its Scats (Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System) adaptive traffic signal control technology with an additional 75 intersections, nearly doubling its use of the technology and making it the second largest deployment in the United States. The first phase of 26 intersections in the town centre area are now in operation with the remaining intersections expected to be fully operational by October 2012.

TransCore has won three separate contracts to provide ITS design, construction and integration services for the Nevada Department of Transportation. The projects include a 30-mile extension of the FAST traffic management system along I-15 from outside Las Vegas to the California border; a 15-mile expansion of the FAST traffic management system along I-515 on the eastern side of the Las Vegas metropolitan area; and a 10-mile segment of I-80 in Reno, Nevada, as part of a roadway reconstruction project.

TransCore has announced it participated in two winning projects announced at the ITS New York 18th Annual Meeting and Technology Exhibition. Of the six projects to receive awards, TransCore participated in the Outstanding Project of the Year in Traffic Control Systems for Integrated Adaptive Traffic Signal Control Decision Support and the Outstanding Project of the Year in Roadway Management for the New York State Thruway's Woodbury Toll Barrier - Highway Speed E-Z Pass system.

In an effort to reduce congestion in a busy corridor for motorists and commercial freight carriers, Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) appointed TransCore as the lead integrator on a project to convert the Newark Toll Plaza on I-95, adding two new electronic highway speed lanes on both the north and south bound plazas. California’s Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) has launched the first phase of its 290km conversion of high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes to Express Lanes, or commonly known as high occupancy toll (HOT) lanes, with TransCore serving as lead integrator for the project. TransCore has launched ROVR (real-time onboard vehicle reporting), a compact GPS device with GSM communications that allows infrastructure-free tolling and includes an optional driver safety monitoring feature. The company says the system is ideal for HOT lanes or greenfield tolling environments, both domestically and internationally, and can also easily facilitate mileage based user fee data.
