International engineering firm Parsons Corp has unveiled its proposed US$3.5 billion project to ease traffic on Interstate 70 through the central mountains in Eagle County, Colorado. Parsons had submitted an unsolicited proposal to Colorado Department of Transportation in 2011. The three-phase project would include tolled express lanes and a bus rapid transit system and be completed as soon as 2021. The express lanes would be reversible to accommodate peak traffic flows to and from the mountains. The proje

Secure Interagency Flow (SIF), an American-based joint venture of French tolling companies Egis Projects and Sanef, are to build and operate the first full toll transactions matching hub in North America. The contract with the Alliance for Toll Interoperability (ATI) is for five years initially with possible annual renewals. The hub will work from constantly updated lists of participating toll operators' accounts to match transactions of other account holders.

Oklahoma Turnpike (OTA) is in discussion with Kansas Turnpike and North Texas Tollway (NTTA) on the viability of electronic interoperability between the three companies. It is close to agreement with North Texas Tollway and billing of each other’s customers should be in operation by the spring or summer of 2014.
