Berlin-Brandenburg, Germany’s capital region, is here at the ITS World Congress to highlight its considerable strength as a major ITS location from research and development through manufacture to proving ground and demonstration projects. The cluster is managed under the aegis of the Berlin Partner for Business and Technology and the Brandenburg Economic Development Board (ZAB).

On its stand here at the ITS World Congress, Kapsch TrafficCom is promoting a new business, Streetline, which it acquired in April, 2015, with a vision to expand to new solutions in smart parking and intelligent mobility. World Congress delegates considering using small wireless networks should make a beeline for stand of Proxim Wireless where the company is exhibiting its new Tsunami 820. The unit can be used as either a base station to communicate with traffic lights or as an onboard unit to send information such as video images from buses.

But what is different is that the new wide-format LED display wall cubes use rear projection, are designed to work 24/7 with a lifespan of around 10 years, do not have a bezel and are about half the depth of the traditional units.
