Austria to launch tender for truck toll system
Austrian motorway operator Asfinag is to launch an invitation to tender at the beginning of 2015 for operation of the country’s toll system from 2019. Contracts with Austrian supplier of road tolling systems Kapsch TrafficCom and Raiffeisen Informatik's (R-IT), the IT department of Austrian bank Raiffeisen International (RBI), will expire at the end of 2018.

Staff celebrated Allied Vision’s 25th anniversary with fundraising activities on behalf of international charity SightSavers at the company’s eight sites worldwide.

Cubic Transportation Systems’ subsidiary, NextBus has been awarded three prestigious contracts totalling more than US$4.3 million for its in-demand real-time passenger information systems (RTPI) product suite.
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has exercised an option with NextBus valued at US$2 million under a contract awarded in 2013. The contract includes the RTPI system that NextBus hosts for Muni as well as maintaining onboard hardware, bus shelter signs and LCDs in subways.
New parking guidance system opened in Switzerland
Swarco Traffic Switzerland has implemented a new parking guidance system in the town of Zug in central Switzerland. The technical installation was carried out by the Business Unit Parking/E-mobility of Swarco Traffic Systems Gaggenau.

The EU's TEN-T Programme is to provide over US$1.2 million of funding to co-finance preparatory studies for the construction of a rail and road bridge over the Port of Malmö in Sweden. The new bridge will help to improve the cargo transfer at the port and improve the national rail capacity.
The project is expected to have a significant impact on the national and EU rail freight capacity, since the port is closely linked to the main European (TEN-T) rail network.
